SAFE HOUSE

The Safe House was founded by a white South African lady, Yvonne,  to care for children that had either been neglected by their parents or orphaned due to whatever reason.

The Safe House is accomodated in a private house situated in the outskirts of Johannesburg. It currently is the home to 16 children from the age of 6 months to the age of 14.

The majority of the children are at the kindergarden age, the older ones all attend school. The House is being run by three local ladies who do all the chores a Mum would do for her children besides, cooking and playing with the kids, cuddling and loving them. The care takers take turns in sleeping in the house at night as they  have their own families to take care of too.

Various volunteers from Germany  assist Yvonne in managing tasks such as shopping, school visits, hospital and doctors visits and many other administartive issues that need taking care of.

Take a look at the picture gallary, these kids are unbelievably sweet and it is diffcult to imagine that many of them were not wanted!
